About

Holly and Juliette in Everyday Fairytales
Mutabilitie was set up to create intimate, site-specific and unusual performances that bridge the gap between reality and fantasy. We place more emphasis on the visual and physical than on scripts or words, and try to make all our performances energetic and visually beautiful.
The company is comprised of a loose collective of people, headed by Holly Race and Juliette Burton. We largely work with local actors on a voluntary basis, although many of those we work with have professional experience, and occasionally we hire professional cast and crew members on our more ambitious projects. We are working towards becoming a fully professional company, without losing the playfulness and joie de vivre of our previous productions.
Our past productions include Everyday Fairytales – a devised piece of outdoor theatre – and Romeo and Juliet which was performed in the Leper Chapel in North Cambridge. Our next production is an adaptation of Philip Pullman’s Clockwork at the ADC Theatre in January 2010. You can find out more about it by clicking here.
In the future we are interested in exploring social media as a portal for creativity. We believe that the internet holds the key to opening the arts up to a wider audience, and have several plans for online web dramas.
